Your local library may also offer museum passes you can borrow for free. Military families can enjoy free admission to participating museums through the Blue Star Museums program until Labor Day, and Bank of America cardholders get free entry to select museums during the first full weekend of every month.
Free festivals and entertainment. Spring and summer are packed with can’t-miss events — and many of them are free. Think outdoor concerts, cultural festivals, art walks, plays and movie nights under the stars. Check your town or city website, local library and community boards for what’s happening near you, or do a quick search online for “free events” in your area. You can also tap into virtual classes, concerts and events through AARP’s Virtual Community Center.
Free family-friendly entertainment. Keep kids and grandkids busy without spending a dime. Programs like Kids Bowl Free offer two free games a day at participating bowling centers, while Kids Skate Free provides weekly passes for roller skating (note: a small annual fee may apply).
